About Your Teacher

Hello! My name is Daisy Melville (she/her) and I’m pleased to call the Comox Valley home, where I teach students of all ages with a particular interest in the early years.

My joy as a teacher comes from developing the Suzuki triangle – the relationship between, parent, child, and teacher – and nurturing musical minds in a way that supports the values of each family, while striving for developmentally appropriate goals.

Over the past 10+ years, I’ve come to specialize in working with neurodivergent children, being neurodivergent myself.

I was raised in the Suzuki method from age 3 and spent my teen years teaching, leading the local group Fiddle Jam, studying the instrument privately, and training to teach Suzuki books 1-3. At Capilano University I studied classical performance and graduated from the program on the dean’s list.

In my free time, I enjoy playing baroque music and scandinavian folk music, as well as dancing and watercolor painting.
